One of the many interesting things about the Philippine Culture is the fact that the wide majority of the population believes in the supernatural be it local myths, scary creatures,ghost stories or even things as basic as the "pamahiins". Some may even argue that this is a bit odd considering that we are a predominantly catholic nation where creatures like that don't exists in our Bible, but on a deeper thought, is that really a contradiction? I notice that much of the urban legends I grew up with actually is connected to our faith in one way or the other. One good example is the story about the "Tiyanaks", you know...usually unborn and victims of abortion, these babies turns into monster to seek revenge and kill peo...
